The Sherry Chen Legal Defense FundThe Sherry Chen Legal Defense Fund was created in 2015 to pay all legal fees and expenses related to the legal representation of Ms. Sherry Chen, and any other legal fees and expenses that have arisen or may arise in any judicial, civil, criminal, administrative, state, Federal, or Congressional inquiries or proceedings which arise from or are in any way connected to the same facts and circumstances as the facts and circumstances that gave rise to the federal criminal case.

She received the 2016 Palo Alto Community Partnership Award.

Financial Records for The Fund
The Sherry Chen Legal Defense Fund (The Fund) accepts U.S. currency donations by check, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and wire transfers for the purposes stated at the top of this webpage. Cash is not accepted. A written receipt is issued when an electronic receipt is not in place. Anonymous donations are accepted, and the identity of donors will remain confidential in accordance to our Privacy Policy. All donations are considered gifts and are not tax-deductible. Donors should consult their own tax advisors regarding potential gift tax consequences. All contributions are final - The Fund is unable to process refunds. Revenues for The Fund have been donations and interest earned from bank accounts. Expenses for The Fund have been legal fees such as billable attorney hours, pass-through legal costs such as travel and transcript costs, and service costs such as website hosting services and PayPal fees. The Trustee, Treasurer, and Chief Information Officer for The Fund are volunteers; they do not receive salary or any form of compensation for their services. The Fund prepares a monthly Revenue and Expense report according to common accounting practices. These monthly reports are subject to independent audits.
